LUGGAGE Lady

Contemplations about Life, Love, & the Pursuit of Meaningful Existence…

For Salvaging My Dream…

DSC_0094

Pecking computer keys in the wee hours

Few aware she even writes

Hunkered in the shadows

Defining herself by “other things”

An artist?

Unworthy!

Just a floundering girl

Filling her document folder

Material swiftly abandoned

Homeless amidst

Shock and awe journalism media

Wavering attention spans

Preoccupation

Isolation gradually devouring

Until a one-dimensional figure

Staring idly

At pulsing cursor

Was the uninspired hull that remained…

***

Then I found YOU!

Generous souls

Benevolently lifting

Hailing

From every corner of the globe

Rejuvenating with spirited support

In this frenzy-paced world

YOU selflessly carve out a moment of your day

To read, offer feedback, and gracefully pass through with a loving nod

YOU hoist my bar higher each time

Whether near or far

Our Connection

Propels my heart

Fingers fluttering across keyboard

In creative rebirth

Delivered by your welcoming chorus

Yet I stand before you

Struggling to articulate…

How do I sufficiently thank

YOU

  1. Aw, this gave me chills — so well done!

And what a great, gorgeous photo of you! I love the outfit, definitely something I’d wear 🙂

  2. Thanks so much for your beautiful tribute to the community! I wish you a wonderful weekend whether at home or in another corner of our small world. Hugs

    • It’s been percolating in my brain for some time now — Such a gift, this fabulous community of ours! Thanks so much for being an integral part. Sending huge hugs right back to YOU!! Happy Weekend. 🙂

  3. Soaring, beautiful. Thank you. I agree with Mayanne–love the photo with you rockin’ the outfit in the gorgeous aperture. As Beyonce, the Golden Rule and others say: what goes around comes back around (hey). Cheers to you, baby. xoxo

  4. Thank you for articulating a gratitude that I’ve never had the wisdom to acknowledge. Yes, my readers help in ways they’ll never know, and no! you are not merely a content provider! Loved the crossout of journalism too. Much love and respect and thanks to you, LL- Moskowitz

  5. Wonderful Shauna,

You are definitely appreciated as a writer, poet and supporter too. I totally relate to not being willing to call myself artist ( dead/ dying aspirations for both photography and writing). And then my readers started increasing, receiving support and comments etc. has breathed new life into me and my writing.

You constantly touch on the heart of the matter. Please keep sharing your poet’s soul and beauty! Blessings, Brad

    • Sometimes, just one hand reaching through the crowd is all it takes! I feel the same about you. You have brought so many insightful pieces to my doorstep, and (in spite of my emotional waterworks) 😉 your posts consistently shift my perspective for the better. Thank YOU!!

  6. PS. Love the photo, the color, feel, interesting setting. Where was this taken?

  7. You are very welcome!! Thanks for supporting us as well:)

  8. Just write with your heart and people will read with their hearts as well…happy writing!!

    Have a great weekend ahead~ Cheers!!! 😀

  9. Great piece, and well written as usual.

  10. you just did … thank us … and you do each time you share a part of yourself through your words. It is we who should be thanking you for dreaming. Then again, dreams are meant to be shared and words and smiles and ….

    • Forget your unfettered kindness. I’m SO honored by your presence! BUT, snooping around your blog, I heard a rumor. Please don’t leave us — YOU have far too much to offer! Sleep on it and return with dreams and smiles anew…Please?

      • rumors spread fast, I did post that I was closing my blog, but I have decided to stay. I just went through a very devastating breakup tonight and didnt want anyone to see my pain … but … it should be obvious after recent posts.

      • Sorry to hear 😦 but glad you’re staying!! ♥

  11. O, dear Lady of Luggage, a wonderful tribute to your adoring fans. I just loved your pic—-very hot! Keep blessing us with your writing. 🙂 Eric

Salvaged deams passed on to another,
dreamlike passion and devotion like no other.
unexpected depth in the eyes –
of a stranger that calls himself friend –
who has left but to prove his worth
    when what is nigh –
    is the end.
life of indifference, touched by tremling heart,
    that only now,
    remembers…
    where it all started.

    Love your word, LL! Allways!

    • As I adore your words…When touched by unexpected depth and genuine heart, stranger becomes friend and the oppressive weight of pervasive indifference lightens. So love your perspective, my wandering soul!!

  13. Stunning as the writer herself–kudos luggagelady!

  14. This is so beautiful, more than you realize. Words of thankfulness that are so difficult to articulate because words just don’t seem sufficient, yet you have done it. Thank you for being the wonderful you that you are. XXXOOO Sheri

  17. I’m so sorry I’ve not been by in a while. I hate when Life gets in the way, or rather when I allow it to keep me from the things I love, one of which is coming here for gentle guidance and inspiration. Thank you for being Open and making our Journeys a little brighter. Love this post. Peace.

    • No apology necessary whatsoever! I struggle with the same…Love that we have one another regardless. And I am ALWAYS thrilled to find your latest posts waiting in my inbox! 🙂

  19. How many of us GOT this? Every line felt like velcro to my heart! Nodding our heads we all had to have read this one to the very last word! Great work! Glad I am one of the ones who KNOW you write! 😉

  20. this is amazingly profound and introspective; I have often felt the same in my drifting from shore to shore of things unknown.

    • The genuine kindheartedness of humanity has left me stunned at times…Had I not been drifting between those beautiful shorelines, I fear I may have missed these incredible encounters. Sometimes, it’s just a smile shared, but the cumulative impact buoys beyond measure! Thanks for being a part of this wonderful experience!! 🙂

  21. Nicely put. I don’t know what it was… the universe suggested I should come back for a visit. Glad I did. Really like the balance in this post.

  22. Oh, thank you so much for dropping back by my old baggage claim! …and leading my to your corner of the world! 🙂
