LUGGAGE Lady

Contemplations about Life, Love, & the Pursuit of Meaningful Existence…

Love Letters to Malaysia Airlines

flight-attendant-blogger-malaysia-airlines-disaster-luggage-lady.

I wrote these words some time ago (https://luggagelady.net/2012/12/16/we-are-one/) but reposted the piece on my facebook page after last week’s heartbreaking airline tragedy. What happened from there was magical. A dear high school friend contacted me, asking to embed my poem onto her exquisite jewelry website. I replied with a resounding “YES!” and promptly added her lovely creation to a flight attendant networking site:  https://www.facebook.com/aflyguyslounge under “Love Letters to Malaysia Airlines.” (Please take a peek if you’re able as I believe the gracious sentiments from airlines worldwide will put a smile in your heart.)

Whether united by wings, artistic endeavors, or sheer compassion — we traverse this globe together — hearts overlapping… 💞

Thank you for your kind words! I’m glad we’re now “connected” thanks to our dearest Chloé! I found your comment on Chloé’s blog (about the poem she so kindly has written for me) SO beautiful and SO kind for her, it touched me a lot! Ah, you know, we have a proverb in French that says “qui se ressemble s’assemble”, it means: birds of a feather flock together. I find your blog very interesting and generous. I’m very happy to follow it. Keep in touch 🙂

  2. Yes, we are one family. Thanks for your compassionate acts Shauna. I love the FB tribute page and that friends are sharing your love around the world!

    • Perhaps because I’m married (literally!) 😉 to the aviation industry, this past week has been extra heartbreaking. Disbelief hangs in the air reminiscent of 9/11… I dream of such a different world — and yet?? As small as my effort is here, all I’m capable of doing is sending out love. Thank you for returning it in the generous manner only you can!!!! Xoxoxo

  5. sharing this one on twitter tonight though sad the circumstance

  10. What a beautiful tribute to all the people lost in this tragedy. But not only that, it is a reminder to all of us remaining on this globe that the atmosphere, indeed, doesn’t know borders. We are all here together. Simply beautiful.

  11. And I can think of no better example of that “togetherness” than right here in our amazingly supportive wordpress blogging community. Thank you for being one of the buoying joys in my world, Dear Tiny!

  12. Reblogged this on Teacher as Transformer and commented:
When I did my undergrad degree, I took a special education course. The major take away from the class was humans have more that binds them together, more in common than what makes us different. We lose track of this in our rush to hold onto ideologies and belief systems that deny our similarities. When we see the other as a neighbour, we can sustain breaths in an atmosphere without borders.

  14. What an honor to have my favorite teacher summarize my writing with his trademark brilliance! Indeed, reading the headlines makes it tempting to believe the world revolves around insatiable confrontation — when, in reality, the general populace is out there connecting and lifting one another upward, one benevolent gesture after the other…

Thank you for being one of those people and for sharing my work, Ivon!! With Love & Deep Admiration, LL

  21. Absolutely beautiful, and we are so much one! But we often behave as though we are so separate. The world would be a different place if that was understood much more.

And I love your creativeness too, excellent! 🙂

    • Thank you, Suzy! I so agree with you. It’s easy to feel powerless and insignificant against a world stage littered with horrifying events. But, as individuals, if we engage one another with genuine respect and friendliness, in my humble opinion, we’re making a beautiful difference! ♥
